The Company

A National Housing Association, with a local base in Staffordshire, are currently looking to recruit an experienced Supervisor on a permanent basis to work alongside an existing Supervisor across the local area. Your role will primarily involve working throughout the Staffordshire area, involved in the inspections of void properties to be completed for handover. In addition you will be supported with a team of operatives and subcontractors, with a combined responsibility of managing their work and ensuring processes are adhered to.

This Housing Association operate across the UK with a portfolio of around 30,000 properties. As they have built up their own direct labour operation, this company take responsibility for all maintenance – planned programmes, reactive repairs and void properties. In addition, they are currently looking to expand their operation to provide facilities services across the region.

The Role

As a Working Supervisor, you will provide support to the Contract Supervisors, reporting back were required. Key responsibilities within this role include:

” You will be required to support in the implementation of the most efficient and profitable daily plans for operations to deliver.
” Ensure all activities meet with requirements for quality management and health and safety, seeking further advice when required.
” Ensure operational queries are deal with effectively, providing clear supportive and accurate advice or signposting as appropriate and escalating complaints via the appropriate channels.
” Mobilise or provide absence cover in accordance with your Job role and position within the organisation for the Contract supervisor
” Maintain minimum resource levels to achieve internal commercial and safety targets without compromising customer requirements
” Carry out visual inspection of the works completed, dealing with and reporting any issues identified.
” Escalate any issues of concern/potential concern to the Contract Supervisor as required to ensure a pro-active approach is maintained and service delivery is not negatively impacted.
” Assist the Contract Supervisor to Lead, motivate and direct your teams to ensure high working standards.
” Assist the Contract Supervisor to maintain high levels of Health and Safety on site at all times.
” Assist the Contract Supervisor to ensure that pre & post inspections/QA checks of Voids and other repairs are completed and properties walked off to the required Y.H.G. standard and handed over on time and within budget
” Adhere to agreed works planning and scheduling processes to achieve desired results.
” Responsible for the organisation of plant & materials for jobs, assist Contract Supervisors to carry out frequent audits on materials used/booked out against work executed and conducting periodic van stock checks.
” Undertake training with operational employees when instructed i.e. tool box talks, Company updates etc.

What you need to succeed

To be a successful Working Supervisor within this role, you will have a strong background in Social Housing Refurbishment, in particular working in void properties and completing inspections with a high attention to detail. You will have previous experience managing a team of operations and be results driven to reach targets provided and ensure your operatives are also adhering to their responsibilities. You will be IT literate and confident with logging all jobs and information on an internal system.

To qualify for this position, you will possess the following:

” Manual Handing
” Working at Heights
” Trade Qualification NVQ Level 3 / Equivalent
” Scaffold Inspection (Desirable)
” Supervisory qualification (Desirable)

This is a permanent opportunity to join a growing Housing Association with a property portfolio of £30,000+. To secure this role you will be available to attend a one stage interview at short notice and ideally be available to start in the nearest future.
