Development/Site Engineer- New Build Housing

Ionic is presently working on behalf of a regionally focused, privately owned new build housing developer who in the last 2 years has seen unprecedented company growth. Owing to major expansion plans and a number of large-scale land acquisitions, they are seeking to appoint a Development/Site Engineer to assist with the development of the team and the growth of the business.

As a key member of the team, you would have the opportunity to work within a purpose-built, open plan office environment that encourages collaboration to overcome any potential challenges. You will be driven to progress your career as they are keen to find a Development/Site who desires progression and development within the Technical team

Summary of responsibilities:

Supervision of S38, S104, and S278 road and sewer works including footpath / vehicle crossings and final surfacing works to adoptable roads / footpaths / vehicle crossings and private driveways and parking areas;
Close liaison with Site management and Road & Sewer / Groundworks Contactors.
Manage the maintenance and adoption of the S38, S104, and S278 works and attend monthly update meetings with the Technical Director;
Assist in obtaining planning permissions and other statutory approvals;
Assist in the production of layouts and technical report for Land Appraisal;
Prepare outline engineering schematics for Land Appraisals;
Commission site investigations, topographical survey and other assessment reports on land acquired;
Prior to legal completion of all new homes, ensure the appropriate driveways and footpaths are completed to agreed standards;
Inspect road and sewer works from commencement to formal adoption by Local Authority. Ensure works are carried out within agreed budget and timescale;
Arrange for street lighting completion certificates and any associated remedial works to allow the street lighting to be placed on to maintenance or adopted;
Assist in site investigation works;
Arrange for as-built topographic surveys to be undertaken as required and in turn produce in AutoCAD as-built road and sewer adoption drawings;
Issue of engineering information to Commercial, Construction and Sales Departments;
Update the SharePoint system with engineering details and drawings as necessary;
Answer technical and engineering queries in a confident and competent manner;
Work in accordance with the Company’s Health, Safety and Environment Policy and encourage safe working practices.

Qualifications Required

HNC / HND (minimum);
AutoCAD proficient (essential);
Word / Excel proficient;
Valid full UK Driving License;
Good engineering knowledge from previous experience of working within the House Building Sector;
Commercial awareness;
Health and safety awareness;
Ability to work within a busy team environment and autonomously as the role requires
